BENET

Benet

Benet is a small village in the Vendée region of France, only a stone’s throw from Deux-Sèvres. Only 11 km from Niort, it enjoys the energy of a major city while offering the calm of the countryside. Benet is the gateway to south Vendée, by the Marais Poitevin and not far from the Atlantic coast. This is a great holiday spot with an amazing wealth of landscapes ideal for outdoor activities. For example, there is the Lesson limestone plain and the Sainte-Christine, Azire and Nessier marshes. And heritage is definitely not lacking. The surrounding area offers a wealth of architectural treasures and little towns full of character, art and history.

You can also enjoy the buildings in Niort marked by the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. And let’s not forget the graffiti and murals painted by international artists. It was the French capital of biodiversity in 2013, with parks, valleys and riverbanks studding the landscape. Throughout the year, Niort hosts a number of sporting and cultural events. A great place for enjoying family life, the town offers discovery activities for kids and workshops for seniors.
